Whispering Hill Society

Under the patronage of the Officer-in-Charge, Govt. General Degree College at Pedong formed a literary society named Whispering Hills Literary Society in the year 2019 which was a joint venture by the Dept. of Nepali and the Dept. of English. The Literary Society meets to discuss books, share insights, and explore different genres and authors. Students are encouraged to make engaging debates and discussions on literary topics, themes, and the impact of literature on society. The Literary society organizes competitions that encourage the students to showcase their writing talents and recite their own literary pieces in front of an audience. There was a literary programme organized by the Whispering Hills Literary Society on 12^th March 2022 at the campus of Govt. General Degree College at Pedong on the auspicious occasion of the official book launch (She Blooms Anyway (A Collection of Poems) and Love (Noun) Needs Love (Verb) to be True (A Collections of Poems) of Miss Rippandi Lepcha, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English, Government General Degree College at Pedong.

These activities help the student community to develop their literary skills, gain exposure to different literary forms and traditions, and foster a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about literature.
