The Career Counseling Cell at Government General Degree College, Pedong, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), conducted a series of insightful events during the academic session 2022-2023. These activities aimed to enhance the students' skills, provide career guidance, and open up new professional avenues.
On January 4, 2023, the Career Counseling Cell and IQAC organized an online session focusing on soft skills development for the students. The esteemed resource person, Smt. Priyanka Chatterjee, also known as Golpodidi, is an International Story Consultant, Process Drama Coach, Educator, and Design Thinker. Golpodidi emphasized the importance of storytelling, personal branding, and soft skills in standing out in today's competitive job market. She highlighted that these strategies are crucial for creating a lasting impact in dynamic work environments. The session was conducted via Google Meet and can be accessed online.
On January 7, 2023, Smt. Jinia Roy, founder of Rainbow Lingual Solutions, conducted an online talk on career opportunities in translation and interpretative work. She discussed the increasing importance of local languages in the globalized market and explored the various job opportunities in text translation. The session concluded with an interactive segment where students engaged with Smt. Jinia Roy, asking questions about career paths and start-up ideas in the translation field.
On the same day, January 7, 2023, Sri Gopal Paul, Founder & CEO of Izifiso, shared his entrepreneurial journey in an online session. He spoke about the hard work and dedication required to build a successful start-up and provided insights into entrepreneurial skills. Sri Gopal also discussed how simple travel experiences can be transformed into profitable business ventures, inspiring students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
The Career Counseling Cell and IQAC, in collaboration with SUPER 50 Academy of Competitive Examination, organized a seminar on April 13, 2023, titled 'Civil Services for Young Aspirants: A Guide for Competitive Examination'. The seminar featured Mr. Bimal Sewa, Chief Coordinator of SUPER 50 Academy in Kalimpong, as the guest speaker. Mr. Bimal provided detailed insights into various civil service cadres, examination patterns, and recommended study materials. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to clarify their doubts and receive guidance on preparing for civil services.
